Besides selling handrolled pocket squares we are a product design agency with an unconventional approach to the development of functional pieces, mixing craftsmanship processes with new production technologies such as 3D printing.

At Lobo Marinho everything is built to last and we strongly believe in the self-assembly concept as a way to achieve practical and sustainable solutions. That’s why we work closely together with several workshops which have the highest standards of quality and know-how when it comes to handcrafted techniques. It gives us the opportunity to preserve cultural heritage while also taking advantage of the new additive manufacturing which can provides us with 3D-printed parts - easily replaced - made of low-impact and recyclable materials. In the end it's all about maintaining a legacy and try to contribute to a most needed circular economy in contrast with the current linear one which is indeed a model of wasteful production.

By engaging in a constructive relationship with our clients we aim to design timeless objects which are best suitable for each project in order to create unique interpretations.

I dream of developing new ways of designing objects through the self-assembly concept

What we take, how and what we make, what we waste, is in fact a question of ethics.

The Monocle 10th Anniversary Magazine Rack

Part of Monocle's 10-year anniversary collection, the Magazine Rack has been designed by Lobo Marinho and handmade in Porto by several workshops.

Shiny brass tubes provide a bridge between the oak-and-walnut legs, giving balance and stability to the main structure; the army green canvas is linked to golden hooks by navy ropes, which have been individually finished by a craftsman. Quick to assemble and easy to transport it's an unique piece of furniture to have at home or at the office.
